The Framework 7 Programme (FP7) is the
European Union's major Research and Development initiative and the fund will distribute around € 50 million of grants
between 2007 and 2013. The United Kingdom universities, research institutes and public authorities have been
active in the Programme and since the start of FP7 have attracted between 12 and 14% of the grants distributed through FP7.
