Horizon 2020 and Proposed FP9 Programme

The major EU funding programme for Research, Development and Innovation is the Horizon 2020 Programme which runs from 2014 to 2020 and is around €80 billion in value.

The programme covers a wide range of Research and Innovation including Secure, Clean and Efficient Energy; Smart Green and Integrated Transport; Climate Action, the Environment and Resource Efficiency: Nanotechnologies; Advanced Manufacturing; Health and Wellbeing; Information and Communication Technologies and Innovation in SMEs.

There is a draft FP9 Programme due to be published in Summer 2018 and this will be discussed and agreed by the Council of Ministers and the European Parliament.  The Programme should begin its operation from 2021.
