A record number of Project Ideas have been submitted to the North Sea INTERREG VB Programme. The closing date for Project Ideas was 20 April and by that date 81 Project Ideas had been submitted. Not all Project Ideas are on the website as some project proposers have asked for their ideas to remain confidential. Project Idea sponsors can request phone or Skype conferences with the Secretariat and 33 projects have asked for feedback. Jon Jordan from European Policy Solutions commented, “In previous Programmes, there have been a significant number of Project Ideas that have been put on the website which will either not be eligible or will not reach the required standard. The key figure is those requesting feedback and the number is much higher than the First Call in previous North Sea Programmes. It is important that project sponsors with good Project Ideas make an application as soon as they can.”
The First Call opens on 27 April and closes on 30 June 2015. The First Call is the only Call where projects can go straight to a Stage Two submission. Decisions on the project applications are expected in November 2015.
